In the video, Pratyusha said she was taking an extreme step due to harassment from loan application staff for repayment.
According to the police, Pratyusha had taken a loan of Rs 20,000 as she was suffering from financial problems but could not repay the amount due to the higher interest. The loan application staff started calling her, then later they started harassing and blackmailing her. The loan app representatives even blackmailed her into paying back the money and even threatened her to post her transformed nude photos online and send them to her relatives.
“I took out a loan and even repaid it. I repaid the loan amount in installments, but they always ask me to repay the loan amount and they torture me continuously. They gave me 7 days to pay it back,” Pratyusha said in his last video message.
“I have no other way, Mother. I am sorry. If I don’t pay the money by 7pm, they threatened me that they will send messages (transformed nude photos) to all parents. I can’t face anyone, I’m sorry,” the victim said in her suicide video.
Unable to bear the alleged harassment, she committed suicide in her residence by hanging herself on Monday.
